Health And Beauty

How many times have you been to the doctor’s without some ailment worrying you? Maybe we should blame the health system. A few doctors would prefer to attend to those that are unwell and brush you aside for wasting their time when you walk in there and tell them you have no problem at all but you have just come for a check up! Not many people do that anyway.  The trouble is that we are always pressed for time, you have to make an appointment and when you get there you have to wait for at least 15 to 30 minutes before being attended to. When you walk in there it’s just a few questions you have to answer, maybe your blood pressure reading and your weight, things that you could have done yourself. You will no doubt think it wasn’t worth the effort and you might resolve never to do it again. Instead we tend to make use of that time seeing friends, or do that chore that’s been postponed for days or even weeks.

I personally think that these checkups are very important and dedicated specialists should be in attendance just to do this, and to do this very comprehensively so that there is always sufficient prognosis and some of these diseases are identified in their infancy. Because you have to go to the doctors when you are already ill is just leaving it too late and not good enough for preventative medicine. It’s a shame that we can say that for modern day Health Care Systems.

There is so much left in our own hands to do and I think it is a really, really BIG responsibility that we have in our day to day lives. And this is what determines the status of our health.  We cannot turn around and blame the Health System for failing to look after us at the end of the day. Simply they are not there when we do what we do.

First and foremost, our health is what we eat. Isn’t it ironical that we have allowed commercialization of food products to control our minds and where we spend our money. The healthy products are hardly advertised as much as they do the processed unhealthy foods. The healthy products are much, much more expensive than the junk food. You do not find as many subsidies on healthy foods, instead the cost is deterrent and therefore unaffordable by the majority of people. The rich only make a small percentage of the world population. Does it ring a bell – government for the people by the people, and yet no legislation to control some of these iniquities.

So much from a big mouth, maybe we need more support? Just go HERE pronto and make yourself look and feel great. Open each tab or go through “Pages” at this site

Acne Treatment

Treatment of Acne

Coconut Oil and Jojoba Oil have been recommended by a lot of articles on treatment of Acne. Just below is a lay man’s analysis why this is the fact of the matter.

Coconut oil has healthy attributes derived from the presence of lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid and its antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal  out of so many other properties it posseses. Lauric acid is converted into monolaurin which is claimed to fight viruses and bacteria that cause diseases.

Coconut Oil consists of saturated fats and traces of unsaturated fatty acids such as monounsaturated fatty acids polyunsaturated fatty acids.

  • The Saturated Fatty Acids (92%) consists of Lauric acid, (40%), Capric Acid, Caprylic Acid, Myristic and Palmitic Acids making up 60% of the total Saturated Fatty Acids.
  • The Poly unsaturated Fatty Acids (2%) is mainly Linoleic Acid
  • The Monounsaturated Fatty Acids (6%)mainly consists of Oleic Acid
  • Poly-phenols – compounds which are beneficial, especially to the cardiovascular system. Gallic acid, a phenolic acid is believed to be responsible for the fragrance and the taste of the Coconut Oil. Virgin Coconut Oil is particularly rich in these poly-phenols.
  • Derivates of other fatty acids are also found in Coconut Oil including Vitamins E and K.

The benefits of Coconut Oil to skin care, in combating wrinkles and the sagging of the skin, treatment of various skin conditions, makes it a necessity in formulating skin care products

Despite the high content of the saturated fatty acids which are not good for the heart, Coconut Oil is rich in lauric acid which helps in reducing cholesterol, atherosclerosis and high blood pressure.

Jojoba Oil

Pronounced ho-ho-ba, Jojoba oil is extracted from the seeds of the jojoba plant. The plat thrives in semi-arid regions of North and South America and is also grown for commercial purposes in parts of Australia and Africa.

The structure of the jojoba oil closely resembles that of sebum, no wonder on application, the skin assumes sufficient levels of the sebum oil on the skin and stops further production from the gland. Unlike sebum, the jojoba oil has attributes that will unplug and unblock all the clogged pores of the skin and mix readily with the sebum and skin without any adverse effects. It therefore is able to maintain a balance of moisture for periods of up to 8 hours or more.

Jojoba Oil also contains Myristic Acid which has anti-inflammatory attributes. It also has antioxidant and antimicrobial properties.

Jojoba Oil is used widely  in the cosmetic industry largely because of the beneficial properties found in the Oil. Both Jojoba Oil and the Coconut Oil are not too greasy when applied to the skin.

The Propionibacterium acnes also known as “P acnes” is a comensal bacteria that lives on fatty acids and can be found in skin pores and gastrointestinal tract. When a pore is blocked this anaerobic bacterium overgrows and secretes chemicals that will destroy the walls of the pore spreading bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus into the skin causing acne lesions.

PH values of the Skin

This is sometimes known as the acid mantle of our skin and plays an important role in protecting our bodies. The more our bodies are acidic the less we are susceptible to attacks from viruses, bacteria and fungi. Conditions such as heat and dry skin will stimulate both the Sweat gland and the Sebaceous Gland to work. There has to be a balance at the end of the day, and this is achieved when the pH value is about 5.5. Sebum levels can be affected by the secretion of sex hormones with adolescents having the more oily skins and more hair follicles than any other generation. The pH value of children is about 7, that is less acidic, (nearly neutral) and therefore more prone to diseases. As we grow old the skin firmness and elasticity will diminish and automatically the skin becomes more neutral.

While it is a known fact that the P acnes requires that the pores have to be clogged, we can see from the above, that prevalence of a wrong pH value on your skin could be the possible reason and contributing factor why you are prone to diseases like acne.

Most soaps whether mild or strong have an alkaline base and therefore will alter this pH balance quite drastically, even to values like 10 or 11. There won’t be a more conducive environment for the P acnes bacteria to attack than this. The Jojoba Oil as well as the Coconut Oil both have an “acidic base” as can be seen from their properties and antimicrobial attributes above. Coupled with the right pH value, this is probably why they and other such products are effective in the treatment of acne and other related diseases.

One needs to have just the right combinations of products in your arsenal to win this fight. Maybe it’s the diet.

The Effect of Antibiotics on the the World’s State Of Health.

A number of human beings and farm animals especially pigs are dying are known to be dying due to the spread of Antibiotic-resistant bacteria that produce enzymes called Extended Spectrum Beta Lactamases (ESBLs).

ESBLs are enzymes that are produced by certain species of bacteria, that make them resistant to cephalosporins such as cefuroxime, cefotaxime, and ceftazidime –the widely used antibiotics in hospitals. Antibiotics are used to treat the bacteria but the bacteria have developed a resistance through a process of natural mutation by producing ESBLs that break down an exceptional number of antibiotics causing substantial challenge to the treatment of infected people. ESBLs were first talked about in the mid 1980s and the 1990s. The British Health Protection Agency (HPA) monitors trends in the bacteria producing these enzymes.

The problem of ESBLs did not cause so much concern until the recent escalation of the number of infected people and the detection of a new class of ESBL called CTX-M enzymes. This has been widely detected among Escherichia coli (E. Coli) bacteria. The E. Coli bacteria produce an ESBL that is able to resist penicillins and cephalosporins and is predominantly found in cases of urinary tract infections.(Penicillin is also an antibiotic)

ESBLs were originally found in the Klebsiella species of bacteria, usually prevalent in hospitals and intensive care units, but of concern is that the ESBLs are now found in the community as well. Community acquired cases may have had prior contact with hospitals. Only a few people were infected by the Klebsiella species and did not appear to be a major concern until the detection of the E. Coli ESBL.

The ESBL (Extended Spectrum Beta Lactamase) producing bacteria have been implicated in the deaths of a number of people with cancer and liver infections. Health officials suspect that the bacteria are being transmitted to humans through pigs and maybe other animals as well. This could be due to the increased use of antibiotics in agriculture. There is evidence suggesting that they are found in faeces of both animals as well as human beings and that possible contamination of food then causes infection in human beings. Further suggestions say that spread is made easier when people take antibiotics thus killing benevolent bacteria normally present in the gut. This could be a significant factor that predisposes people to infection with ESBL. This may even suggest that people may not get infected unless and until they take an antibiotic for any reason. Other means of transmission could be through contaminated hands of health workers or poor practice in urinary catheter care.

Care homes and hospitals should ensure that hand washing and other infection control procedures are rigorously enforced if contamination is to be effectively curbed.

Various species of bacteria such as the following have been known to produce ESBLs:

  1. Klebsiella pneumoniae
  2. Klebsiella oxytoca,
  3. Salmonella,
  4. Proteus mirabilis,
  5. Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Each bacterial species, produces an ESBL that is unique to itself and reacts differently to various antibiotic administration.

Figures published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) of October 2007 say that nearly 100,000 people were infected with the invasive methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) and that led to over 18,600 deaths in 2005. (Staphlococcus aureus is a narrow spectrum beta lactamase producing bacteria. Methicillin is no longer being manufactured and its clinical use has been stopped and replaced by flucloxacillin and dicloxacillin, however the term (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus MRSA) continues to be used to describe Staphlococcus aureus strains resistant to all penicillins). If you compare this with the 17,000 people that died of AIDS/HIV that year, it is clear that  we have got a major problem in the use of antibiotics.

Equally MRSA did shoot into the news then and headlines suggested we needed to limit the use of antibiotics, exercise proper hygiene, and unsure that waste disposal must be done more carefully to avoid cross contamination and infection. But little has been said about the rampant use of antibiotics in agriculture. Both MRSA and ESBL’s have been traced back to the animals that are raised for food especially pigs.

Figures show that 70% of all antibiotics produced are used in the agricultural sector especially for livestock. This means that 30% is directly consumed by humans and the rest we also consume indirectly either through beef, pork, fruit and vegetables or whatever is grown by Man. Even vegetarians are equally exposed to this as most market vegetables, including potatoes, carrots, corn and lettuce are grown in a green house with manure from livestock. The antibiotics, which are still in the animal manure are absorbed into the vegetable tissue, through this unsuspected process. The damage may even be extended to the bacteria that reside in the soil from which we grow the crops.

Denmark’s health officials claimed that they were unsure how some people who have not consumed meat are now infected. It is pretty obvious that the dominant source of human antibiotic consumption is our food. Vegetables grown from manure, without the use of fertilizers, are considered naturally grown and are rated much higher and better. Such vegetables adorn the organic shelves of our high street supermarkets, fetching exorbitant prices compared to other vegetables. Fruits are no exception.

According to research on John Hopkins website, the main domicile of the organisms that produce the ESBLs is in the lower digestive tract and the bacteria can virtually remain in the gastrointestinal tract for months. The animals are fed low doses of antibiotics for growth promotion and disease prevention. The overweight animal creates a perfect condition for the antibiotic resistance to develop and flourish.

A foregone conclusion we can come to is that the meat industry is the major driving force behind the development of antibiotics that has resulted in the antibiotic-resistance bacteria that are now infecting people. Many thanks to the FDA (U.S. Food And Drugs Administration Department) who banned the use of fluoroquinolones, a widely used class of antimicrobials, from agriculture in 1977, not without a lot of resistance from such multi-national corporations who have a lot of say in the antibiotic industry.

So how do we avoid excessive antibiotic exposure?

Well, this depends on where you live. If you live in the large metropolitans, it might be a good idea to find a farmer who uses non-toxic farming methods, who lives near you, or make use of community agricultural projects that provide healthy locally grown foods, that you could request to supply  your requirements. In the non-urban setting, the best thing is to “grow it” yourself using compost manure.

Grass fed beef are not normally given antibiotics except for an infection and they are the better option than  those kept locked in pens and dosed more regularly with the antibiotics and other ‘quick-grow’ substances.

A 2006 study also concluded that poultry meat from conventionally kept chickens and the people that ate them were found to be resistant to Synercid (quinupristin and dalfopristin), a strong antibiotic that is used to treat antibiotic resistant bacteria. Conventionally kept chickens are not very different from free-range and free-range is what people would buy when given a choice. I am sure you would agree that this is  making everyone vulnerable beyond  modern medicine. The study also revealed that it was rare to find resistant bacteria among antibiotic-free chicken.

So much for the food we eat and the trust we put in the heavily mechanised farms all around us now. I personally believe that everything starts in the gut. There are so many untreatable diseases these days, so many allergies, so many conditions and syndromes.  It is well overdue that we re-examined all remedies and treatments that we use for both human beings and our livestock.

Lady Doctor Gets Death Threats for Revealing TOP SECRET Fat Loss Secret to General Public!

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

A new breakthrough secret is all you now need in order to forever shed countless pounds, stay healthy, and add many years to your life! A lady doctor from Arizona has blown the lid off the best-kept secret in weight loss ever discovered — and this has the whole diet food and drug industries turned upside down and in nothing less than a torrential uproar. Her name is Dr Suzanne Gudakunst, and she’s marching to the beat of a different drum. And no, nothing about her “secret” is difficult — nor does it require that you do something completely out of the ordinary or anything unnatural. Instead, the Arizonian boasts proudly “…this is something that I caught onto just before 2002 when there was so much research and exploration going around concerning the human colon and digestive system working in harmony with nutritional absorption, and I started doing independent studies just to test things at first … but which I later expanded on after seeing some fantastic results.” This same woman medical practitioner went on to accurately determine a definitive correlation between harmful plague and parasitic infestations of the human bowel tract, and people suffering chronic obesity — and who despite intense diet and exercise appeared to be unable to lose any weight whatsoever. Over the course of six years the Arizona doctor developed a number of natural treatments for the removal of these same harmful, even life-threatening plaques and rapidly reproducing digestive parasites — and when applied to even worse-case patients suffering extreme obesity (98% of which were in immediate danger of dying) she saw a 100% effectiveness and success rate. She then borrowed from her research on the severely obese, and applied the same strategies on milder cases of overweight persons — only to find the same effectiveness and quality results as described above (although the individual weight loss per subject wasn’t nearly as much as those obese patients 100 lbs to 200 lbs or more overweight). So powerful is her secret that she’s able to reverse diabetes, rid illness altogether in people suffering from cancer (linked directly to poor diet and overweight factors), as well as an elimination of an entire spectrum of serious and otherwise life-threatening diseases. Nearly 100% of all her case subjects were told in the alternative by “conventional doctors” that they either had just months or years to live, or they would never live a life anything resembling remotely a “normal” existence — yet after applying Dr Suzanne’s treatments saw a complete contradiction to others doctors’ prognoses. Again, nothing about her secret is unnatural or requires someone to do any major action or modification in their lives. In fact, her entire treatment is based completely on built-into-nature ‘protection agents’ scattered throughout the world in the form of select herbs, extracts, and organic constituents, and which can be found in a variety of plants — but when combined in specific combinations and carefully chosen amounts make for a solution to what is perhaps the world’s worst ever plague: OBESITY (and the illnesses and diseases resulting from it — or at least severely aggravated or exacerbated by it). Now to everyone else’s great gain, whether suffering from just a few extra pounds and inches, to those extremely fat and overweight, this brave, bold lady doctor is releasing to the general public her secret for forever destroying the tight unrelenting closed-fist of obesity’s stronghold over the now more than 40% of Americans labeled obese, and others worldwide. But she’s not promising any of us for how long. Some experts and sociologists suggest that in the bigger scheme of things, the world will never tolerate a discovery of such magnitude, any more than it would be realistic to expect a car that runs on water (even if very real) to ever become commercially available to the general public for day-to-day use. One well-respected and famous diet & wellness author wrote years ago that if anyone ever “truly unlocked the keys to permanent fat loss, they may actually suffer the same fate as JFK.” It is currently available at: => http://stantap01.fatsecret.hop.clickbank.net

…so you may want to head on over there now and get it and before someone or “something” gets it forever yanked out of ever getting in YOUR hand at least. It’s in a very easily readable format and is quickly and readily understood and mastered by anyone with even a 4th grade reading level. While you’re there, why not scroll down and review for yourself the huge successes others are now having with this incredible breakthrough in rapid, massive weight loss and extremely improved and enhanced health, now made freely available to the rest of us?
